We now print Affinity files: Vector, Pixel and Layout

Great news for our Affinity users: we can now accept and print your Affinity files. Affinity is a free, professional creative app that brings vector design, photo editing, and page layout together in one place.

It supports non-destructive editing, precise control over typography and layout, and press-ready exports, making it ideal for everything from brochures and books to posters and marketing materials.

What we accept

  • Native Affinity files (.af) created in the new Affinity app (by Canva)
  • Affinity V1/V2 files exported to print-ready PDF
  • Common print formats: PDF (including PDF/X), JPEG, PNG, TIFF
  • Recommended export settings from Affinity
  • Use press-ready PDF (e.g., PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4) for best print results
  • Include bleed and crop marks where applicable
  • Embed or outline fonts
  • Use CMYK or appropriate color profiles; spot colors are supported if set up in your document
  • Run preflight checks in Affinity before exporting
  • Helpful capabilities in Affinity for print projects
  • Advanced layout features: master pages, text styles, baseline grids, and data merge
  • Professional typography controls (kerning, ligatures, variable fonts)
  • Press-ready tools: bleed/margins, preflight checks, PDF/X export, color control, crop/registration marks
  • High-fidelity import of PSD, AI, IDML, DWG and more, preserving structure and layers where possible

Notes for compatibility
The new Affinity desktop app can open V1/V2 files. Older V1/V2 apps cannot open newer Affinity (.af) files. If collaborating with older versions, export to PDF.

If you are unsure, send us your native .af file and a PDF export. We’ll advise on the best path to print.

Ready to print your Affinity project?
Upload your file along with any print specifications (size, stock, finishing). If you need help preparing a print-ready PDF from Affinity, let us know and we’ll guide you.
